Sons of Liberty

The Sons of Liberty were a group of Patriots that originated the independence movement in the colonies, to which they dedicated their efforts to improving American freedom under the British rule. The Sons were known for their rowdy acts of dissidence against the British Crown, and such notions prevented well known Patriots such as John Hancock and Benjamin Franklin from joining the group, for if they did, they faced the possibility of being apprehended by the British.

Notable members of the Sons of Liberty included Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, and Benedict Arnold.
