The scorpions (Scorpiones) are an order of arachnids mainly living in hot areas, like deserts.
During the 1st century BCE, scorpions were commonly found throughout Ancient Egypt.[1] Attacks were very frequent as they could also be found in cities. In Soknopaiou Nesos, Bayek encounters Tuaa, a woman who lost her husband to a scorpion attack.[2]
As scorpions are common fauna of Egypt, scorpions eventually found their way into their religion. Serqet is an Egyptian goddess often depicted with a scorpion on her crown, being the goddess of healing venomous stings and bites, among others.
Bayek encounters several giant scorpions in the afterlife where they are taller than a human and attack him on sight. Killing these yield their pincers as animal goods.[3]
