Rinaldo degli Albizzi
Rinaldo degli Albizzi (1370 – 1442) was an Italian nobleman and member of the Florentine House of Albizzi, a prominent banking family.[1]
Biography
Rinaldo's family came to power due to a power vacuum left in the wake of the Ciompi Revolt by 1382. Worried about the rise of Cosimo de' Medici and his family, Rinaldo and his father Maso had him first imprisoned[2] in the Palazzo della Signoria[3] and then exiled.[2][4] However, the following year, Cosimo gained power and banished the whole Albizzi family save for Rinaldo's brother Luca, who was loyal to the Medici.[2][4]
