Pennsylvania is a state in the northeastern region of the United States. Pennsylvania shares borders with several states, including New York, Ohio, and New Jersey.

Pennsylvania was the meeting site of the First Continental Congress in 1774. The Second Continental Congress also met in Pennsylvania for the creation and signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.

Pennsylvania was one of the thirteen colonies that claimed independence from Great Britain during the American Revolutionary War.
