Otetiani was an expanse of woodland hills dotted with springs and cave systems in the west of the River Valley in New York.

Once home to the indigenous Iroquois people, Otetiani's caves were painted with legends of the Sky Woman and structured with a native pillar. By the 18th century, the French discovered Otetiani and built a small settlement dependent on the area's diverse hunting area and supply of lumber. During the Seven Years' War, the British planned a siege on Otetiani against the French troops, which the Templar Shay Cormac participated and backed the British.

Trivia

  • Otetiani was the birth name of the Seneca chief Sagoyewatha, meaning "He is prepared".
