Anton Gill, the first Oliver Bowden

Oliver Bowden is the pen-name used by two authors writing novels based on the Assassin's Creed video games.

The first published books in the series were by Anton Gill, a Renaissance historian and author of other historical fiction. During a 2011 interview with Ubiworkshop, Gill revealed that he was an avid gamer and gained much of his inspiration for character development through the writing process from playing the Assassin's Creed series.[1]

Subsequent books were written by the novelist and prolific ghost-writer Andrew Holmes.[2] Following the 2017 release of Assassin's Creed Origins: Desert Oath, the pseudonym was retired, with all authors since using their own names.
