Maurice, typically known as Norris, was a miner hailing from Montréal, who resided within the Davenport Homestead during the American Revolutionary War.
After the Assassin Connor saved Norris from guards who intended to beat him up, Connor mentioned to him of the beginnings of a mine on the Homestead, to which he asked Norris if he fancied setting up his efforts there. Norris agreed to this offer and provided the Homestead with ores, which could later be sold or crafted into weapons and various other items with the cooperation of David Walston, in order to raise income.
He also assisted Connor with the search for a parcel containing the Assassin robes of Achilles Davenport, by detonating an explosive in the rock wall of the cavern that housed the robes.
After some time on the Homestead, Norris confessed to Connor that he had romantic feelings for Myriam. With the aid of the Assassin, Norris attempted to sway her into a relationship. Although he initially faltered in his confidence and failed in attempts to earn her affection with gifts, he then presented her with a new hunting knife, which consequently saved her life, due to a poacher returning to the Homestead to attack her.
After Connor's intervention with the poacher, the event led to Norris entering a relationship with Myriam, and his subsequent marriage to her.
Following the end of the Homestead missions, Norris and Myriam were seen, frantic along with Father Timothy, who read to them a letter that revealed that the iron Norris has smelted was the best ever seen by the letter's writer, who was most likely a buyer of mined goods.
Trivia
It is revealed that both Maurice and Myriam were illiterate, as they required Father Timothy to read a letter recieved from a person regarding Maurice's mined goods.
