Luoyang (Chinese: 洛阳) is a city in the west of Henan province in China. The city served as the capital city of numerous dynasties during the imperial period.

During the Tang dynasty, the city was briefly occupied by the armies of An Lushan during his rebellion against Emperor Xuanzong. Until 757, it served as the capital of his newly established state, Yan.[1]
