John Wilkins (died 1868) was a British factory worker in London around the mid-nineteenth century.
Working as a foreman in a Whitechapel factory in 1868, Wilkins intervened when another labourer, Tom Coulton was beating one of the child workers. The boy already being unconscious, Coulton used his working knife and stabbed Wilkins, killing him on the spot.
After an investigation into the murder by the Assassins Jacob and Evie Frye, accompanied by Arthur Conan Doyle and Henry Raymond, Coulton was accused of murdering Wilkins. The perpetrator confessed and was subsequently taken in by the Metropolitan Police Service.
