Ingólfr Arnarson (c. 849 – c. 910) was a Norse explorer who became the first permanet settler of Iceland alongside his wife Hallveig Fróðadóttir and foster brother Hjörleifr Hróðmarsson.
Some years after establishing a settlement on the island, Ingólfr's group struggled with the cold winters and lingering blood feud. As such, he requested aid from King Harald Fairhair to send supplies and men in order to bring stability to the settlement, a request which the King accepted.[1]
