Hypatia of Alexandria
Hypatia of Alexandria (c. 350/370 – March 415 ) was a Greek mathematician, philosopher, astronomer and inventor.
Originally born in Greece, Hypatia moved to Alexandria and became the head of the Neoplatonism School of Alexandria. As a teacher and philosopher, she was highly respected by her fellow Alexandrians. A statue was later erected in the Library of Alexandria in her image.
