"Fashioned by the Helmschmied Armory in 1489, only a few sets were completed due to the weight of the metal."

The Helmschmied Drachen Armor.

The Helmschmied Drachen Armor is a pre-order bonus of the Codex Edition and the Auditore Edition of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. It is also available to those who pre-ordered Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood from Amazon.com, Ubisoft.com, Steam (for the PC version), or Play.com. It also becomes available with the Da Vinci Disappearance DLC.

Appearance

The armor has a very high aesthetic appeal to players. With the smooth edges and an intricate interweaving of the Drachen materials, many prefer it over the more unrealistic cosmetic outfits available.

As you can see on the right side of your screen, the Helmschmied Drachen armor replaces both of Ezio's bracers, just as the Armor of Brutus. Also, the Helmschmied Drachen armor gives Ezio two gloves, whereas the Armor of Brutus removes your glove. Neither affects the gameplay or equipment, such as the Climb Leap Glove. Included in this outfit is an attached Knife Belt and a closed inner collar, both are unique to this outfit.

The black and white colored robes this outfit contains is very similar to the black-robed assassin's in Assassin's Creed, only more refined and tailored to Ezio's body. On Ezio's waist, the Assassin's emblem is present with rows of sheathed throwing knives along it's sides. The Gardbrace and bracers both share a similar resemblance to a crest of some sort. While equipping this cosmetic outfit, the color of Ezio's robes cannot be dyed.

Bugs

  • If the armor is worn by Ezio before encountering first Cristina memories, an older Ezio is seen instead. This is mainly caused as this armor is cosmetic.
  • Whenever Ezio removes his hood during a cutscene the player would still seem to be wearing it. This also happens with other cosmetic armours and the Armor of Brutus.

Trivia

  • "Helmschmied Drachen" is German for "Helmet Smith Dragon."
  • The Helmschmied armor also appears as a purchasable item in Assassin's Creed: Project Legacy, where its description states that it's "The finest in foreign engineering" and has an incredible price of 200,000 florins.
  • Official Concept artwork shows that the Helmschmied Drachen Armor was planned to be colored white, yet in-game, it appears black.
  • It is a re-do of the Helmschmied armor in Assassin's Creed 2.
