Gentile Bellini (c. 1429 – 23 February 1507) was a Venetian painter active during the Renaissance. In 1480, he painted the portrait of the Ottoman Empire Sultan Mehmed II, after the Republic of Venice and the Ottomans had signed a peace treaty.[1]
