"Warriors fight to impress, only half can go.
Odin's Mead Hall awaits the Einherjar,
Freyja's Fields take the rest"
―Poem about the Norse afterlives, found in Freyja's Cave.[src]-[m]

Fólkvangr ("People-Field"), also known as Freyja's Fields, was one of the aspects of the afterlife for Norse mythology, along with along with Valhalla and Helheim.[1]

Ruled over by the queen of Asgard and goddess of love Freyja,[2] the fields welcomed half of the Einherjar chosen to enter Asgard, with the other half joining Odin in Valhalla. While only men could enter Valhalla, both honorable men and women were accepted in Fólkvangr.[1]
