Francesco de' Pazzi (1444 – 26 April 1478) was the father of Vieri de' Pazzi and a member of the Pazzi conspirators. Secretly a Templar, he was one of Florence's wealthiest nobles. Francesco loathed the Medici family and the rising middle class with a passion.
Assassin's Creed II
He was first witnessed by Ezio, in the ripe of a discussion with Rodrigo Borgia, along with his son and his uncle, Jacopo de' Pazzi, in San Gimignano about the murder of the Medici brothers. He was seen again later in a chamber underneath the Santa Maria Novella in Florence, discussing with his uncle and the Pazzi Conspirators about the assassination of Lorenzo and Giuliano de' Medici.
He was very confident that their mission would be a success, he showed this by spitting out constant insults and mockery at the enemy, but Jacopo warned him that confidence led to the death of his son, who was murdered by Ezio. During the High Mass at the Duomo, he violently stabbed Giuliano 19 times in the chest in a bloody frenzy. He then tried to kill Lorenzo, but Ezio fought him off, which forced him to flee.
He and Jacopo's soldiers later attacked Florence starting a civil war to gain influence and control. Days after, he is seen trying to invade the Palazzo della Signoria to 'persuade' the officials to make the Pazzi the leaders of Florence when Ezio appeared again. Ezio managed to fight off Francesco's guards, then forced the paranoid Francesco to flee. After being chased by Ezio, he was assassinated.
Jacopo was soon seen claiming victory for the Pazzi after their taking of Florence, a large crowd of Florentine citizens watched on, though this does not last as he notices Francesco's body hung from the tower of the Palazzo della Signoria, which forced Jacopo to flee and end the violence in Florence.

Ezio: Meglio essere felici in questa vita che aspirare a esserlo nella prossima. (Better to be content in this life, than aspire to it in the next) Requiescat in Pace. (Rest in peace)
Trivia
- It is peculiar that Vieri is Francesco's son, as the latter had to have been 10 when Vieri was born.
- Francesco de' Pazzi had a daughter as well. Hinted in the game's start, "Boys will be boys", Ezio comments "Your sister seemed quite satisfied with the handling I gave her earlier" to Vieri de' Pazzi just before their fight. In addition, in Assassin's Creed: Renaissance, Ezio specifically stated her name as Viola.
- When being pursued by Ezio, Francesco de' Pazzi leaps off the Palazzo della Signoria into a haystack for a quick escape. This was the only known example for a non-Assassin committing a form of a Leap of Faith, until it was shown that in the Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood multiplayer modes, the playable Templar characters can also perform a Leap of Faith.
- Francesco executes a Leap of Faith method different to the eagle dive regularly performed by Ezio.
