Encyclopédie
| This article is about the encyclopedia. You may be looking for the memory of Arno Dorian. |

The Encyclopédie was a French general encyclopedia of the sciences and arts. It was edited by the Enlightenment philosopher Denis Diderot and for that reason was also known as Encyclopédie Diderot.[1] During the French Revolution, the Parisian Assassin Arno Dorian was tasked with recovering the book's section about secret societies to see if it would expose the Assassins' existence.[2]
Behind the scenes
None of the images used on the supposed pages of the Encyclopédie are actually from it. The top middle is a fraktur of the family record for Nathaniel Bangs.[3] The bottom left image is a diagram of a wheellock firing mechanism from the 4th edition of the Meyers Konversation-Lexion's entry "Radschloß", however with the cock cropped and moved to the ignition pan.[4] The bottom middle is a drawing of Anne Bonny from the 1725 Dutch edition of A General History of the Pyrates.[5] The sources for the rightmost pages are unknown.
