Akila was a personal servant of the pharaoh Cleopatra during the late 1st century BCE.

During Octavian's siege of Alexandria in around 30 BCE, Akila was tasked by Cleopatra to inform the Romans of their surrender, before committing suicide with a vial of poison given to her by Amunet.[1]

Trivia
