Domination
Domination is one of the new multiplayer game modes introduced in Assassin's Creed III, in which two teams of four compete to capture and hold up to three areas, and protect them from their opposition. Each team starts next to a capturable area with the third one residing off to the side or in the middle of the map. The team with the most amount of territories at a time moves a small bar found at the top of the screen. The game is over when one bar takes over the other bar or after 10 minutes, whoever has pushed their bar the farthest. When all 3 territories are captured at a time, Domination occurs, and the team not only moves their bar much faster, but scores points every several seconds.
To capture a territory, enemy players must walk from their own territories to the opposing ones. Once they enter enemy territory, any opposing player can kill them. In the heart of the territory is a small capture zone. The player steps into the capture zone, and a white circle starts to fill up the red one. The more players in a capture zone, the faster the circle fills. When a player is in a territory, the opposing team hears the announcment "One of your territories is under attack." When the circle is completely filled, the announcement "Your team captured a territory" is played, along with a sound effect. The territory now belongs to the capturing team, and any enemy found inside the territory can be killed. This means that if any enemy player would be trying to defend the territory when it was originally being captured, they could be killed.
The only way to defend a territory is to kill the opposing players. Standing in the capture zone doesn't help defend or slow down the circle. Also, if you fail to defend, you will automatically start capturing, but you're also at risk of being killed.
