Where are the paintings?

With no mythological basis I can ascertain, other than scant contextual clues, it seems Feigardr was a prison of some sort... which strikes me as odd. After all, dwarves were more prone to execute than imprison wrongdoers, which is especially true for the Muspels that would later seize Feigardr.
