Agnes MacBean (5 January 1815 – unknown) was the driver of "Bertha", a private train previously owned by the Templar gang leader Rexford Kaylock and later by the Assassins Jacob and Evie Frye when they killed Kaylock in a war between their respective gangs.
Biography
Early life
Agnes MacBean was born in Garnkick, Scotland as the firstborn child of a homemaker and an ironworker. As the eldest of six, Agnes grew in her outspoken character and often ordered her younger siblings around.
In 1831, Agnes, with hopes of following her father, Mungo MacBean's footsteps in his expertise with train rails, learned what she could about the railway system. By 1834, Mungo went ill and Agnes had to take over her father's place and identity in the train for the benefit of her family.
Working for the Assassins
Two years later, she was forced to transfer to Rexford Kaylock's services when Crawford Starrick learned of her identity and impounded the train she worked on, later handing it over to Kaylock. After the Fryes eliminated Kaylock and took control of Whitechapel, under the banner of their gang, the Rooks, they became the new owners of the train, turning it into the London Brotherhood's mobile headquarters. Dissatisfied with Kaylock's rule, Agnes continued her work under the Frye twins.
Agnes later approached the twins to request help with a stalker. Deciding to lure the stalker back to the train, Agnes went out onto the street, pretending to be blissfully unaware of her stalker, while one of the Fryes were covertly tailing her. While going about her routine, she ran into some associates who warned that a gang was after her, though she did not take them seriously. Unfortunately, her stalker inadvertently alerted the Blighters that Agnes was an associate of the Rooks and began to converge on the train, though the Fryes were able to dispatches Agnes' would-be attackers. Her stalker was then captured, identifying himself as Nigel Bumble, who reveals the whole reason he was following Agnes was so he could join the Rooks.
