Customization
Customization is a gameplay mechanic of Assassin's Creed II. In the Tailor shops in all of the cities, the player can dye Ezio's clothing, although the possible color schemes depend on which city they are in. You can always switch back to your normal color, Assassin White, for free. You can unlock the achievement, "Perfect Harmony", by dyeing your clothes with both "Wetlands Ebony" and "Wetlands Ivory", both colors are available in Romagna/Forli. In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood you can as well customize the new assassins with different armor and outfits.
Dyes
For a list of dyes, their locations and prices, see: Tailors.
Dyes have a common characteristic: a prefix on their names which states where the dye is from.
Trivia
- While wearing Altaïr's Armor, dyeing only changes the inside of Ezio's cape.
- Dyeing armor causes it to remain, even when you switch armor. The only way to remove it is to dye your armor back to its original color, Assassin White. However, since Assassin White is a dye itself, you ultimately cannot remove dyes.
- In Assassin's Creed Brotherhood it is revealed that you can customize the apprentices with Venetian colors even though the game takes place in Rome.
