The Collector was a Messaran merchant living in Gortyn during the 5th century BCE.

Biography

An acquaintance of the adventurer Nikios, the Collector was known to have accompanied him, Swordfish, and others into the labyrinth beneath Knossos Palace, looking for treasure. However, like the others with the exception of Nikios, the Collector fled the labyrinth as well, and afterwards agreed never to talk about the incident with Nikios' orphan boy, Ardos.[1][2]

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra sought them out as requested by Ardos.[2]
