Byzas
Byzas is regarded as the founder of Byzantium. In Greek mythology, he was said to be the son of the god Poseidon and the nymph Keroessa.
Byzas was also said to have named the Golden Horn in honor of his mother, whose name means 'the horned' in Greek.
