Burgeo is a town located on the south coast of the Island of Newfoundland, Canada.

Burgeo has a rich history of nearly 500 years. Before europeans came, the region was inhabited by the Dorset Eskimos and the Beothuk Indians. Burgeo and the surrounding Islands have been visited by the famous Captain James Cook, who experienced a solar eclipse there in the mid-18th century, and the 1790s saw the first influx of permanent settlers who made a living fishing cod. Burgeo has a cooler climate, like the rest of Newfoundland, and the village sees a lot foggy days. The region has milder winters and cooler summers.

In the game Assassin's Creed: Rogue, a hunting cabin had been constructed near the coast; during the Seven Years' War, it was renovated by the Templar Shay Cormac, who also explored the surrounding area.
