Brinley Ellsworth was a member of the British Rite of the Templar Order during the Victorian era.
An old friend of Maharaja Duleep Singh, Ellsworth became involved in a plot to end Singh's attempts at restoring Punjab indepedence from the British Empire.
Biography
Brinley Ellsworth was born and raised in India to English missionary parents whose mission was to convert the Indians and restore peace to the new colonies. In 1848, Brinley's father, Franklin Ellsworth, tasked Brinley in keeping watch over the young Duleep Singh. Through spending a lot of time together the two became fast friends but when Duleep was called to England Brinley was left to be alone. Brinley would continue to be educated in India and became an apprentice to a government official of the British Indies Company. Brinley's new duties included keeping the peace by preventing another rebellion and allowing England to stay in control. With keeping true to his ideals, in 1868, Brinley was sent a letter from England requesting his presence to make sure Duleep Singh would remain the last Maharaja.
