Harholl was a meeting hall west of Stavanger in Rygafylke, Norway.

History[edit | edit source]

In 866, merchant Thorsteinn Silvertongue had a mannjafnadr between himself and Bjorn at the hall, after the latter accused him of dishonor of selling a faulty sail, only to sully his honor and his standing with jarl Harald Fairhair on the upcoming expedition. Fortunately, Thorsteinn proved his innocence in front of his jarl and those who attended voted to exile Bjorn from the land.[1]

In the 870s, the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir visited the hall, climbed atop its structure, and surveyed the land.[2]
