I wouldn't have known, he and I did not speak at length, but he was the one responsible for my nickname, Omega Supreme.
I created the article for the game, but it was preemptive to do so, and based on little more than conjecture without official confirmation from Ubisoft despite recent leaks. Such leaks are too complex to be left alone however, and I am of the mind that they are true, to a given capacity.
Black Flag's world was huge, and players pretty much had full reign of the entire map from the get go. Three times the size of the Black Flag's map though, right? That is vast indeed, if we extrapolate the size of the Caribbean Sea (Or West Indies) in square kilometeres, we might be able to figure out how big the Open World is for Empire or Origins. A google search reveals that the Caribbean (I assume this includes not just the sea, but also the many islands and countries therein) to be 1.063 million mi2 (square miles). Now, you said the Open World for Origins is almost three times the size of Black Flag, so 2.5 multiplied by this number will give us: 2.6575 million square miles. In kilometres this is, 6.8828934. That's huge. Then again, how big is the Mediteranean in comparison to the Caribbean? Yeah, the Mediterranean Sea is smaller, though not by a lot. It has a total area size of 965,300 square miles or 2500115.52 square kilometers. So I was previously in error, the total area does not include islands or countries, but rather the sea itself. With land mass included, the Open World of Origins will be vast indeed, but also, we can assume that the map size is essentially the size of the Mediterranean Sea, or however much of it players will be allowed to access.
Yeah, it'll be interesting if Ubisoft could create a protagonist that surpasses Ezio, I've heard speculation on YouTube that the protagonist will ultimately start the Assassin Order, and that he is a former slave. A series triology will be nice, Ubisoft did work on a Kenway Saga, but their idea was to focus on a different ancestor for each one. I don't count Rogue or Liberation though, because the main protagonists were not Kenways.
