I can honestly say that I play the games for the modern part and Those Who Came Before the most really. I kind of see the games in 3 parts

-The Animus Time Period

-The Modern Day Bit

-The overall Mystery of what happened 1000s of years ago/Eden

Not that I dislike the Animus Period, not at all, it's just that the games wouldn't be such a good mental play through without the Mystery or Modern Day parts, they are what keep me coming back to the series
