Maurice, typically known as Norris, was a miner hailing from Montreal, who resided within the Davenport Homestead during the American Revolutionary War. After Ratonhnhaké:ton saved Norris from guards beating him up, Ratonhnhaké:ton said there were beginnings of a mine on the Homestead and asked if he wanted to set up there. Norris agreed to this offer and provides the place with ores, which could later be sold or crafted into weapons or other objects along with Dave Walston to raise income.
After a time on the Davenport Homestead, Norris confessed to Ratonhnhaké:ton that he had feelings for Myriam. With the aid of the assassin, Norris attempted to sway Myriam into a relationship. Although he initially faltered in his confidence and failed in attempts to earn her affection with gifts, he then presented her with a new hunting knife, which saved her life. This lead to Norris entering a relationship, and eventually marriage with her.
