Bodil Bodilsson
Bodil Bodilsson was a Norseman who reigned as a jarl of Lunden during the city's occupation by the Great Heathen Army in the 9th century.
Biography
Considered one of the three "Great Jarls of Lunden", Bodil was known to be a peacekeeper, which allowed him to outlive the other jarls of his time. During his tenure, Bodil constructed the Bodilsburg Garrison, which became a stronghold by the 870s. Bodil and two of his sons, Bjorn and Thor, later died of a plague prior to 873. His remaining son, Erke, went on to become a reeve of Lunden, serving under governor Tryggr.[1]
