I do not mind playing as a Templar, Shay just seems like a douchebag. And I'm worried Ubi is going to make the Assassins uncharacteristically evil to make Shay's decisions seem justified. It seems like a hard thing to pull off.
Also, do elaborate on how you believe the Templars in Liberation were good people? :s They were kidnapping people of low standing, ripping them from their families to slave away in some far-off location to retrieve an artifact. The only one I'd argue was morally ambiguous there was George Davidson, who joined them to fight for his own freedom. Madeleine and Rafael were both manipulative, with the latter bordering on sociopathic. De Ulloa and d'Abbadie orchestrated mass scale kidnappings, Baptiste planned the mass murder of New Orleans' nobility. Diego Vazquez is too obscure to judge. How did you arrive at the conclusion that they were the good guys?
