Augustin Grisier was a French Assassin of African heritage, member of the French Brotherhood, as well as the fencing master in the Café Théâtre owned by Arno Dorian.

One day, a servant girl of the café-théâtre saw Augustin and Charlotte Gouze together and reported it to the intendant, who told her to stay out of their business.
