Aubrey Shaw was a British constable and friend to Frederick Abberline.[1] He later quit his job to become a butcher.[2]

Due to a witness's description of a robed man that Shaw could not locate, he became the target of jokes among the other cops. One day, while sulking in a bar, he was approached by Abberline, whose case also had to do with the mysterious man.
