The Assassins' Bureau is basically a safehouse for Assassin Instructors in the field, and the Assassin's Order in general. The Bureau's leader provides you with useful hints on where to obtain information on assassination targets. Once you have collected all the required information (and it is possible to do so before entering the Bureau), the leader provides you with a [[feather]] that appears to be one of the primary flight feathers of a white eagle, which is yet another nod towards the resemblance that Altaïr shares with the birds. This feather, referred to as a marker, is used to give proof of a successful assassination, by staining it with the blood of the target.

The Assassins' Bureau is an Assassin-controlled safehouse located in each of the three main cities featured in Assassin's Creed. It serves as safe haven for Assassins (such as Altaïr) before and after assassinations. Is a starting and ending point.

Characteristics

The Assassins' Bureau is basically a safehouse for Assassin Instructors in the field, and the Assassin's Order in general. The Bureau's leader provides you with useful hints on where to obtain information on assassination targets. Once you have collected all the required information (and it is possible to do so before entering the Bureau), the leader provides you with a feather that appears to be one of the primary flight feathers of a white eagle, which is yet another nod towards the resemblance that Altaïr shares with the birds. This feather, referred to as a marker, is used to give proof of a successful assassination, by staining it with the blood of the target.

The entrance of the Assassins' Bureau is located on the roof, probably to reduce the chances of outsiders wandering in out of curiosity. This entrance will be closed when your current social status is exposed, to prevent guards from discovering the Bureau and subsequently violating the Creed (to never bring attention to the Assassin's Order). The Assassin Bureau is a place where they also make swords, blades and other useful equipment, enabling Altaïr to restock on throwing knives here. Just before assassinations, the Bureau can also be used for Assassins to physically and mentally prepare and get relaxed.

Building

The exterior of the building is that of a normal construction, although it doesn't have any obvious windows or doors. The entrance is located on the roof, which can be reached by either climbing the walls or via a ladder located in an entry alley.

The inside is divided into only two rooms:

Main Chamber

The Bureau's entrance/exit. Notice that there is no obvious way (such as a ladder) in or out of the Bureau.

The entrance to the Bureau. The Main Chamber is a small living area comprised of two fountains and several pillows. This place is intended for an Assassin to rest or relax before and after assassinations, allowing them to wait for the appropriate moment to strike, or for the dust to settle after an assassination.

The walls are decorated with hanging carpets and the Assassin insignia, while the ground has potted plants, pillows, and more carpets for making it a more relaxing ambient.

The ceiling is grated, with an opening that serves as an entrance into the Bureau. When the city is on alert, the opening is closed with a grated panel.

Bureau Leader's Room

The Bureau Leader's Room.

The leader's chamber is adjacent to the Main Chamber. From behind a stand, the leader addresses those who come to speak with him, while also studying and attending to the needs of the Assassins' operations in that respective city.

Behind the desk are bookshelves and closets, where registries of missions are kept. The books and scrolls the Leader has access to are also located in this area. Across the room, a raised walkway holds weapons and books, things that may help with the carrying out of a mission.

All assassinations missions must begin at this room, since the leader is the one who provides the feather for a marked target and the assasins must come back to the bureau to give the feather.
