He originally sailed to the Carribean in search of an ancient artifact said to contain unseen power. Upon arriving in the Carribean, he was asking around about the artifact in a tavern, which attracted the attention of Edward. He asked him about the treasure, and Jay replied " Are you Edward? Edward Kenway? I've heard a lot about you!". This attracted guards but Jay and Edward quickly dealt with them. They retreated to the Jackdaw where Jay recieved the invitation to join his crew. | ||
