Died in Childbirth?

Are we sure that she died due to complications from childbirth? I know that The Secret Crusade say so, but page 24 of the Codex says otherwise, very clearly suggesting that Altaïr's mother was alive during his childhood. — M.C.Tales (talk) 22:41, October 19, 2012 (UTC)

It only mentions that they lived with the Masyaf castle's walls, and Altaïr wondered if they were happy.

That doesn't stop his mother from dying from birthing complications. Slate Vesper (talk) 00:02, October 20, 2012 (UTC)

Um, read page 24 carefully, it says:
"Some days I miss my family... or at least the thought of them. I never knew my parents well, despite them both having lived within these walls. It was our way. Perhaps they were sad, though they showed no sign – it was not allowed.
For my part, so much of my youth was spent in training, there was little time left to reflect upon the separation. And so when they were finally lost to me, it seemed no different than the passing of two strangers. Al Mualim had been as my father, and his was a weak and dishonest love, though at the time it seem enough – better, even. Or so I thought.
"
Clearly, according to the Codex at least, Altaïr's mother was alive during his childhood. I don't recall Revelations saying that she died giving birth, and as far as canon goes, what happens in the games trumps what happens in the books if there is a contradiction (I think). — M.C.Tales (talk) 23:45, October 23, 2012 (UTC)
