Revision as of 19:29, 12 December 2012

This is the discussion page for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.
Here, you may discuss improving the article.

Do not use this talk page for discussions on where this game will be set. Only use it to discuss the article itself.

Locations

I'm glad they're not planning on WWII, if that's official, because WWII has been done to DEATH.

Maybe something in China or South America (Mayans) would be nice. Aegis Runestone 21:58, May 1, 2012 (UTC)

Talk pages are for discussions on the actual article, not to theorize on the subject. If you want to discuss possible locations, please make a forum or blog or use one of the many that have already been created. -- Master Sima Yi 22:05, May 1, 2012 (UTC)
Oh, sorry! >_< Aegis Runestone
I agree with you, random person, you should sign your post so we know who you are. And as Master Sima Yi stated, consider making a blog so that this page is kept clear of unnecessary speculation. The Leaping Eagle 19:25, May 8, 2012 (UTC)

India?

I've just went through the Joystiq article (the one that's ref. 3) and there's nothing about "Corey May and Assassin's Creed 3 creative director Alex Hutchinson have both expressed interest in pursuing an Assassin's Creed title set in India" in it... Maybe it's just references mix-up, but if not - it should be deleted. MattV 08:12, June 11, 2012 (UTC)

It was an anon who added that and it seems he got confused with the references, not to mention that he added a reference that wasn't needed at all. It is actually set in the LatestNewsExplorer article, but what they are interested in isn't what will get in the final game, so it's not worth mentioning. -- Master Sima Yi Clogs Marvel Studios 08:22, June 11, 2012 (UTC)
It was a reference mix-up. If you read the Latest News Explorer article however, you will see that it mentions how Assassin’s Creed III writer Corey May really wants to do India, and Hutchinson agrees, saying “I would too. I’d really love to do the Raj.”

Not yet announced, why the page?

Seeing as it has not yet been announced, why is there a page for AC4? Isn't everything here as speculation, because we are all assuming they are going to do more games? I know there is the Corey May person saying that he was ruling out WW2 and Feudal Japan, but I vaguely remember reading that on here ages ago, before lots of things about AC3 were announced, including the setting. Look at the sources. It isn't assumption that there will be more games, it's fact. They have stated it numerous times. I made this page to stop people from asking "will there be more games?" because there will be. So far it's not working out so well because they are still asking about it... And remember that the Assassin's Creed III page has been around since 2009 or so... -- Master Sima Yi Clogs Marvel Studios 10:53, June 11, 2012 (UTC)
I had heard somewhere that there was the possibility the 4th game would be from the perspective of a Templar. Is that true? Does anyone have the article link or something? 142.229.136.225 17:43, July 17, 2012 (UTC)
"Assassin's" Creed. I find that theory unlikely, but interesting. The Leaping Eagle (talk) 17:51, July 17, 2012 (UTC)
We have Multiplayer......Templars Creed? No. 115.186.159.39 17:55, July 17, 2012 (UTC)
maybe we should wait till ac3 is released before we get into ac4?Assassin of 81 (talk) 20:02, July 17, 2012 (UTC)
Then we shouldn't have had the Assassin's Creed III page before Assassin's Creed: Revelations was released either. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 20:04, July 17, 2012 (UTC)
Assassin's Creed was confirmed as a trilogy long ago, though....it made sense to give all 3 of the main series titles pages from the start. An AC IV page conflicts with previous information, however..
I know that it could be another spin-off like Liberation or something, but perhaps the name isn't appropriate? Makes it seem like there will be more in the main series of games, with Desmond's adventures in the Animus. 24.57.118.228 09:20, September 15, 2012 (UTC)
Ubisoft mentioned that Desmond would have a trilogy. However, they never said that the Assassin's Creed series would stop at three numbered games. Slate Vesper (talk) 09:24, September 15, 2012 (UTC)
While initially the series was planned as a trilogy, as you can clearly see in the sourcing of the article, Ubisoft have now confirmed that there will be more main games after Assassin's Creed III. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 09:42, September 15, 2012 (UTC)

19th Century England

How about England in the late 19th century? Might give an oppurtunity to clear up some things about Jack the Ripper... --Jpx400 (talk) 22:07, September 12, 2012 (UTC)

Please take this to a forum or blog page: talk pages are for discussing improvements to the article. --Alientraveller (talk) 22:25, September 12, 2012 (UTC)
As had already been said above in the talk page and again by Alientraveller here, take it to a forum or blog. And there is nothing to be cleared up about Jack the Ripper. He has never been mentioned. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 09:37, September 15, 2012 (UTC)

Assassins Creed Future

They can go to Latin America and take every revolution that happened along the 1800's. Going thru Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and more. Imagine it could all end in the paraguay Big War or La Guerra Grande. The assassins where taking almost all paraguay to their side, and the templars plot the surrounding countries so they could stop the assassins growing.

Or if they want to come closer in the present days it would be great seing assassins creed during the cold war, but no a simple commie capitalist struggle. The heads of both groups use the cold war to control the power over the world and the assassins fight against everyone in almost all the conflicts they both almost had, Corea, Vietnam, Somalia, the gulf Wars.

Now the problem for going back in the past is that there is no longer a good reason now that:

SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Juno is free to fight against humanity, why they would go back, unless that the answer to destroy Juno is in another assassin in the past, an assassin that only contacted Minerva.

India

Someone seems to have removed the information about India from the article. I've also changed the reference as the one given before was inaccurate.

Just because they like the time period, it doesn't mean we should insert developer opinion into the articles. For that same reason, we should also add that Darby McDevitt likes Ireland, and that Corey May can theoretically do any time period provided he did a lot of research.
