Yan (燕), also known as Great Yan (大燕), was a dynasty of Imperial China, established by the general An Lushan after he rebelled against the Tang dynasty under Emperor Xuanzong. Following its founding in 756, with its capital in Luoyang, An Lushan crowned himself as the Xiongwu Emperor (雄武皇帝) and ruled for a year, until his assassination by the Hidden One Li E on 25 January 757.[1]
