Virginia, officially the Commonwealth of Virginia, is a state in the South Atlantic region of the United States. Virginia is bordered by Maryland, Kentucky, West Virginia, and North Carolina.

Virginia was one of the thirteen colonies that claimed independence from Great Britain during the American Revolutionary War. It is also the location of the Virginian Plantation.
