It was known that he thrived on acquiring knowledge and power, especially in biology, medicine and the occult, with it being rumored that his elixirs could keep his Templar patients from the brink of death. As well as this, he also expanded his dissection skills on "fresh" bodies, though the means of which he obtained them was mysteriously unknown.
