Tunguska was a remote region of the Yenisei basin close to the Krasnoyarsk Krai river in Russia.
History
The Tunguska explosion occurred in June 1908 near to the Podkamennaya Tunguska river, some 8 kilometers (5 miles) south of Lake Cheko. In Clay Kaczmarek's Glyphs, the Tunguska incident was said to be the result of an attack by Assassins. The area had a Templar research station and a Piece of Eden, both of which were said to be destroyed in the attack.
Nikolai Orelov, an Assassin, asked for Nikola Tesla's assistance in destroying the Imperial Sceptre, a Piece of Eden of considerable power, in order to keep it out of the hands of the Templars. Tesla used the Wardenclyffe Tower to channel vast amounts of electricity into the artifact, of which the resulting explosion fractured the Staff into several shards, one of which was later owned by Grigori Rasputin.
