Tomás de Torquemada

Tomás de Torquemada was was a Spanish Dominican friar, first Inquisitor General of Spain, and confessor to Isabella I of Castile living in the fifteenth century. A member of the Templars, he, as Inquisitor General, had many Assassins burned alive under the Templar banner. However, a few of these burnings were prevented by Ezio Auditore da Firenze, who had come to Spain to find out about the Inquisition's plans.
