The Temple of Kybele was a temple dedicated to the Anatolian goddess Kybele, located in a canyon on the Greek island of Lesbos.[1]
By the time of the Peloponnesian War, only ruins of the temple remained when it was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra, who recovered various treasures therein.[2]
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Despite the ruins being dedicated to Kybele, the statue used in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey is commonly associated with the Greek goddess Hera.
