The Sword of Avaris was a sword which belonged to the Daktyls Depleted Mine blacksmith in Messara, Greece. Having come all the way from Egypt, the name still bore a memory of its original home.
During the Peloponnesian War, the blacksmith gave the sword to the Spartan misthios Kassandra after she helped him by bringing him some obsidian.[1]

Behind the scene
The Sword of Avaris, a blade in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, shares its model with the commonly found Ceremonial Khopesh, another weapon in the same game. These are both the recycled model of Aruna, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Origins.
The name of the Sword of Avaris references Avaris, the former capital city of Egypt under the Hyksos, a group of peoples originating from Canaan who established the Fifteenth Dynasty of Egypt. Avaris is thought to have been previously established as a Minoan colony due to frescoes found there similar to those found at Knossos, possibly referenced by the sword being obtained in Krete, the Minoan homeland.
