The Staff of Athens was a type of staff primarily wielded by distinguished citizens of ancient Athens, often used as an accessory as well as a defense tool.

In 428 BCE, the Spartan misthios Kassandra acquired the staff after providing an antidote for Alkibiades, who had been poisoned at a party during the Olympic Games.[1]
