Shihab Al'din was the uncle and second-in-command of the Saracen Sultan Salah Al'din. Shihab was present during the Saracen siege of Masyaf in 1176, and negotiated the terms of his nephew's withdrawal following an Assassin-infiltration of his personal tent the night before.

Shihab informed the Assassin leader, Al Mualim, that the only condition the Saracens insisted upon was the execution of the Assassin responsible for the death of a Saracen nobleman the night before: Umar Ibn-La'Ahad.
