Later, one of the monks that Altaïr interviewed told him that he suffered from hearing all of the sins that Shalim committed as he kept coming frequently to make confessions; "To oppose him would mean death", he said. Altaïr also asked the monk about the Archives, however, he had given him no answer to this, as a commotion was building. This commotion had erupted since Shahar had taken a place on an orator's stand, telling the people of Kyrenia about the Armand Bouchart's plans. Altaïr thought this was Shalim instead of Shahar, since he was unaware at the time that the two were twins.

Shalim was a young nobleman who was identical in appearance and dress to his brother, Shahar. However, he did not act like his twin at all in his ways of behavior, as he was known for his rude, fierce and violent lifestyle, and his appetite for women and wine. He didn't seem to be like his father either, as Moloch was known as a religious zealot.

Shalim was a member of Templar Order and the second-in-command to Armand Bouchart. He was also the son of the Bull, and the twin brother of Shahar.
