Shalim

"Have your fun, men. And round up some women for me when you're finished."

Shalim was Armand Bouchart's second-in-command and a Templar. He was also the son of the Bull, and twin brother of Shahar.

Biography

During Altaïr's search for the Archives, Shalim was spied on to find the location of Maria. However, being no use to the Master Assassin, Shalim went to a brothel with some of his bodyguards, harassing the citizens and merchants of Kyrenia beforehand to gather some money for their visit. There, Shalim took one of the prostitutes and went back to his castle, telling his bodyguards to get more women for him when they were done; one of the women would turn out to be Maria.

Investigation

Later, one of the monks Altaïr interviewed, told him that he suffered from hearing all the sins Shalim committed as he kept coming frequently to make confessions. "To oppose him would mean death", he said. Altaïr also asked the monk about the Archives, however, he had given him no answer to this, as a commotion was building. This commotion had erupted since Shahar had taken a place on an orator's stand, telling the people of Kyrenia about the Armand Bouchart's plans. Altaïr thought this was Shalim instead of Shahar, since at that time he didn't know they were twins.

Then, after his speech, Shahar headed back to Saint Hilarion Castle, in which he dissapeared. Altaïr was soon given his own chance to enter the castle, as the bodyguards of Shalim came to bring more women - Maria being one of them - the Assassin sneaked in with them.

Death

Altaïr soon found out Shalim and Shahar were twins, as he faced both of them inside the castle, alone; Maria had fled, leaving only Altaïr to fight against the two skilled swordmen. Eventually, Shalim and Shahar were both defeated, the Assassin leaving once more to find Maria.

Characteristics and personality

Shalim was a young nobleman who was identical in appearance and dress to his brother, Shahar. However, he did not act like his twin at all in his ways of behaviour, as he was known for his rude, fierce and violent lifestyle, and his appetite for women and wine. He didn't seem to be like his father either, as Moloch was known as a religious zealot.
