The Rusty Staff was a staff used in the 5th century BCE Greece. Though rusty with age, the elements hadn't eaten away the capabilities of the staff, for it remained strong and reliable.

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra commonly found this weapon in the inventories of blacksmiths and looted it from bodies and chests during her travels throughout Greece.[1]

Apparently, this staff is sturdy enough to resist growing weak over time.

Behind the scenes

The Rusty Staff, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, shares the same model as a number of other similar weapons in the same game, including the Champion's Staff. These are all the recycled model of the Scepter of Thaati, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Origins.
