Robert Faulkner (1715 - unknown) was an elderly sailor, and Connor's first mate aboard the Aquila. Although he was the fourth generation in his family to become a sailor, he was first to be recruited into the Assassin Order.
He began his career in the Royal Navy, but due to him not being able to purchase commissions, he left to work for the United Company of Merchants.
Faulkner was captain of the Aquila when it was nearly destroyed in 1768. As he had a strong bond towards the ship, Faulkner had it towed to a location near Boston, and after the Aquila had been repaired through the funding of Connor, he served on board as first mate.
Trivia
- Faulkner's voice actor, Kevin McNally, portrayed Joshamee Gibbs, the first mate aboard the Black Pearl in the Pirates of the Caribbean series. Faulkner also has some similarities to Gibbs, his appearance and his superstition; they both believe having a woman aboard the ship, and stepping on the ship with a left leg are omens of bad luck.
- In a cut-scene following victory in the memory "Biddle's Hideout", Faulkner could be heard leading "Wild Rover", an Irish folk song that was written in the late 16th century.
